I'm someone who made an unexpected career shift, transitioning from podiatry to the world of coding. From July 2022 to June 2023, I embarked on an exhilarating journey into computer science through CS50, an introductory course offered by Harvard University. It was like opening a door to a whole new universe.
CS50 isn't a typical boring lecture series. It's not about memorizing stuff; it's about doing. Through a series of lectures, problem sets, and projects, CS50 demystifies the fundamentals of computer science and programming languages, making them accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. From tackling algorithms to mastering data structures, from understanding the intricacies of web development to exploring artificial intelligence, CS50 covers it all. But what truly sets CS50 apart is its hands-on approach. Instead of passive learning, you roll up your sleeves and dive into coding challenges that push your boundaries and ignite your creativity. You can find all psets-CS50X and labs and also my final project of CS50X 'sellandbuy-Final-Project-CS50x' that I did during this training course on my GitHub account.
What I loved the most in this learning journey are Professor David Malan's lectures. He knows how to make computer science fun and engaging! His passion for the subject is contagious, and his lectures are like a breath of fresh air in the world of academia. With Professor Malan, I felt like I was embarking on a thrilling journey every time I sat down to watch a lecture. He has this knack for breaking down complex concepts into bite-sized chunks that even a newbie like me could understand. And the best part? His enthusiasm is so infectious that you can't help but get excited about coding!
Looking back on my CS50 journey, I'm filled with gratitude for Professor Malan and his incredible lectures. He not only taught me the ins and outs of programming but also inspired me to approach challenges with confidence and determination.
CS50 journey is about embracing a whole new way of thinking; it has transformed not just my technical skills but also my mindset. It taught me to approach problems with curiosity, to never stop learning, to persist, and to have a healthy dose of creativity.
If you're thinking about diving into the world of computer science, I highly recommend starting with CS50. It's the perfect starting point for beginners like me who want to explore this exciting field and experience the magic of Professor Malan's lectures.
